These teardrop earrings are handmade with natural Paua shell and attached to Thai silver ear wires. Drops measure approximately 1”. These shells are full of iridescent color that range from purple, blue, green and pink. They will change color when viewed from different angles.
These Paua shells are from New Zealand where there are strict limitations on quantity, sizes and method of collecting these shells to ensure their sustainability. Paua are commonly found in shallow coastal waters along a rocky shoreline. Their shells are oval shaped and the outer shell is a grayish color. The inside of the Paua is the part with the beautiful iridescent colors.
Hill Tribe Silver is made in Thailand by the Karen Hill tribe. Each bead is handmade & the silver content is between 95-99%. This makes the silver softer & easier to form into beautiful beads & pendants. No two pieces are exactly alike. Hill Tribe Silver also tends to tarnish less than Sterling Silver.
